Technical Director and Health & Nutrition Officer – Save the Children

Save the Children together with its partners is implementing the Sabal (Sustainable Action for Resilience and Food Security) Food for Peace/USAID-funded project for 5 years. The project is designed to increase resilience for targeted vulnerable communities in districts of central and eastern Nepal. The project aims to increase resilience, food security and improve access to economic opportunities by improving livelihoods, disaster preparedness, health status and nutritional behaviors in youth, mothers and their children. In this regard, Save the Children, Sabal invites applications from interested and eligible candidates (Nepali citizens) having the ability to deliver results with the highest level of integrity and who value diversity for the following position:
Technical Director
The Technical Director will function as the key person responsible for the technical program delivery of the Sabal consortium across the livelihoods and agriculture component in the six districts of Makawanpur, Udayapur, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Khotang and Okhaldhunga.  The incumbent will provide high quality technical oversight, guidance and support on key program activities under the 5-year USAID-funded Sabal cooperative agreement.  The Technical Director has authority to work across all technical work streams, preparing assignments with technical managers and ensuring that the program is implemented effectively in order to achieve crosscutting synergies in the livelihoods component of the program.  The Technical Director will also provide technical guidance, and leadership where necessary, to undertake work related to the project learning agenda in coordination with the MEAL team and SCUS technical staff. 
Master’s degree with 10 years (7 years for GSI) of relevant experience with national and international experience in the field of public health, agriculture, livelihood & climate change or working on programs of similar scope and complexity or equivalent combination of education and experience, 
Health & Nutrition Officer – Save the Children
Health officer is overall responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of integrated health and nutrition program in district including Enhanced Homestead Food Production and WASH. S/he is further responsible to provide technical support to PNGOs, schools, health facility and district health office/District public health office to plan and implement program activities. S/he will establish good coordination and collaboration with government counterpart to expand health and nutrition component in the district.


  • Bachelors in Public Health/Basic Nursing with atleast 3 years’ experience in the related field (2 years’ experience for GSI group)
