Teach for Nepal is a movement of outstanding university graduates and young professionals who are committed to end education inequity in Nepal starting with two years of fellowship teaching in public schools.

Teach For Nepal fellowship is a two year long, full-time paid employment opportunity. During the two years, Fellows teach in public schools and bring about academic achievement and transformative impact in their students. At the same time, they harness their leadership skills through the teaching experience and intensive development training and support.

Over the two years, you will hone your skills in a variety of areas including communication, planning, project management and implementation, and teamwork. As a classroom instructor, you are uniquely poised to set your students on new paths, and to lead them to success both in and out out school. And as a member of the movement, you join a network of leaders and change agents both locally and internationally. You will leave Teach for Nepal prepared and confident to meet whatever comes next.

Educational Qualification: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent

Job Description:

Teach For Nepal Fellowship is a globally recognized two years long, full-time paid employment opportunity for individuals with a minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. During the two years, Fellows teach in public schools in Lalitpur, Sindupalchowk, Dhanusa, Lamjung, Parsa and Dang and other districts in Nepal and bring about academic achievement and transformative impact in their students. At the same time, they harness their leadership skills through the teaching experience and intensive leadership development training and support.

 Who should Apply?

  • Recent university graduates and young professionals who are passionate about social justice
  • Those who have demonstrated leadership skills in their academic and professional career and are interested to become lifelong leader’s in various sectors
  • University Graduates with at least a Bachelor’s degree and a strong academic record
  • Highly effective communicators in both Nepali and English
  • Those who are driven by a strong value system – integrity, sense of possibility, humility, self-reflection, perseverance, and commitment

Incentives

Each Fellow will receive Rs. 466,000 during the two years of Fellowship plus benefits. In some communities the Fellows may also receive in-kind support such as accommodation and meals; however these support will be entirely dependent on the community itself. Teach For Nepal also provides medical insurances coverage to all Fellows valued at Rs. 150,000 and accidental insurance valued at Rs. 500,000.
