Regional Technical Advisor (South Asia) – WaterAid

WaterAid is on a mission to change normal for millions of people within a generation – by getting clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to everyone, everywhere by 2030. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty, and change their lives for good. Children grow up healthy and strong, women and men get to earn a living, whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be. WaterAid is a place for people looking for inspiring, stimulating work and a real spirit of togetherness – people with a commitment to our vision, an appreciation and respect for different people and ideas, and the energy and expertise to help tackle the most important of challenges

It’s hard to believe that today 844 million people don’t have clean water close to home, and over 2.3 billion don’t have a decent toilet of their own.  WaterAid is working with our partners and communities in our South Asia region: Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal and Pakistan – to bring access to water, sanitation and hygiene to everyone within a generation.

We are seeking a Regional Technical Advisor, South Asia, to play a vital role in making this happen. The postholder will have the opportunity to innovate in both service delivery and technical WASH solutions. At the same time they will collaborate with and learn from a community of technical experts across the globe.

The Regional Technical Advisor will be part of the senior management team and will lead on ensuring that the technical quality of delivery and technical competence of our country programmes and partners are consistent with best practice and global programme standards. As the technical lead, the postholder provides independent advice and assurance to senior programme staff and regional leadership to ensure scalable, sustainable and equitable service delivery across the region. Please see the full job description below.
